The Boathouse
Missouri
With awards for craftsmanship and design, the boathouse serves as a functional place with all the amenities that capture the languid rhythm of lakeside living.
- Featured in the June 2009 issue of Architectural Digest, this award-winning, shingle-style boathouse replaced an outdated structure that had been in the owner's family for many years. After solving major construction challenges inherent in building a house on the water, we placed durability at the top of the list needs so the structure would last more than a single generation. The architecture is based on the east coast style of Mead McKim and White. A lodge-style feeling is achieved in the great room with its Douglas fir trusses, red-oak floors and cypress walls.
