Ohio Wesleyan has received a donation to restore Merrick Hall, one of the oldest and most elegant academic buildings on campus. The Greek Revival building is one of 11 campus locations on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mackey Mitchell has been selected as the architect for the renovation of the historic structure which features a soaring ceiling on the third floor, with Gothic arches and large windows that overlook the campus and the city. When Merrick Hall reopens in 2015, it will feature state-of the-art classrooms and event space and house parts of the school’s OWU Connection program. In addition to the interior renovations, a south-side patio will be added to the building. Mackey Mitchell’s project team includes Dan Mitchell and Steve Emer.
