“Amazing, awesome, and beautiful,” are just a few of the words students are using to describe the latest 180,000SF addition to the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign campus. Bousfield Hall, which will house 480 students, is one of the newest residence halls to be built on campus in more than 40 years.
Besides being more spacious, the building is also sustainable and handicap accessible. According to Kirsten Ruby, Associate Director of Housing, “We wanted to provide options that will make the University of Illinois the first choice for the best and brightest students.” Working with FGM Architects, Mackey Mitchell’s project team includes Dan Mitchell, Tom Moore, Nick Naeger, and Gregory Keppel.
