When the concept of the award-winning SIUE Student Success Center took root, the university’s goal was to create a place that would ensure success for it’s students. Along with the Center’s many amenities, the project was also built with many sustainble design features, including a green roof spearheaded and overseen by SIUE faculty member William Retzlaff and his students. The green roof can be seen from the University restaurant and upstairs balcony of the Student Success Center and is in keeping with SIUE’s long-term goal of developing and maintaining the University’s assets in an environmentally responsible manner.
