The St. Louis Regional Commerce & Growth Association awarded companies who participated in their “Green Business Challenge,” launched in 2010. The RCGA asked local companies to complete a scorecard in six areas to reflect the region’s involvement in green economics. Areas tracked were forming company green teams; improving energy and efficiency; raising indoor environmental quality; reducing waste and water usage, and providing clean transportation options. Mackey Mitchell was recognized with an award for its commitment to sustainable business practices. A trip to the Peerless Landfill many years ago changed the firm’s view of the business of architecture and how we are committed to green practices.
