Washington University in St. Louis students and the Mackey Mitchell project team took part in the “Back-to-School Bash” Monday night to celebrate major improvements to the university’s Campus Store. The renovation expanded the space which was updated with new carpeting and lighting, a more open floor plan, and a new glass entrance facing Forsyth Boulevard. “Since the closing of Library Limited, this area has been without a high-end, academic bookstore,” said Mackey Mitchell project manager Marcus Adrian. “The new Campus Store will serve that purpose as it welcomes students as well as the larger community.” There’s improved store space for general academic books, course materials, clothing, gifts and convenience items with the added bonus of more social spaces. Campus store director Betsy Schneider said the remodeled Campus Store offers a flexible, comfortable environment and improves the services needed to support the university’s academic mission.
