Responding to student population growth and its evolution from a commuter campus to a residential one, the University of Alabama in Huntsville engaged Mackey Mitchell Architects along with local Architect-of-Record Turner Batson, to design a new student center. With completion anticipated in the fall of 2013, the university has asked Mackey Mitchell to develop a concept branding package for the new facility.
The university, ranked among the nation’s top 100 in U.S.News & World Report, offers a variety of academic degrees, and is involved in research programs which include aerospace engineering; space plasmas and astrophysics; robotics; and space propulsion to name a few. Mackey Mitchell will be working UAH staff and students to tell the university’s rich and interesting story. MMA’s team includes Gwynn Zivic, Merrilee Hertlein, and Jim Konrad.
