In 2007, Mackey Mitchell Architects was engaged by Washington University in St. Louis to study and propose three possible renovation scenarios for the Olin School of Business. After the study was completed, the project was put on hold. In 2011, Moore Ruble Yudell of Santa Monica, California, in association with Mackey Mitchell, teamed to design the long-awaited renovation and expansion of the Business School.
With a goal to double the facility’s footprint on the Danforth Campus, the university is addressing the tremendous growth of its graduate business education programs. The LEED Gold-anticipated Knight and Bauer Halls will provide classrooms, a 300-seat auditorium, office spaces, study suites and lounges, group study and forum areas, meeting and seminar rooms, and a spacious atrium to serve 1,500+ students and staff. Mackey Mitchell’s project team includes Gene Mackey, Tom Moore, Andy Noll, Greg Frankenfeld, Nick Naeger, Gregory Keppel, Matthew Roeder, Beth Kutterer, and Avik Guha.
