How would students plan a new village for 4,000 residents? Along with teammates from BGK and BOKA Powell, Mackey Mitchell engaged Texas A&M students in a day-long workshop to find out.
After focus group conversations, students became campus planners, and in fifteen minutes came up with ideas about how the buildings should be placed on the site. They then presented their concepts to “hired” planners. Tops on their minds were : 1) Meaningful outdoor spaces for gathering, relaxation, and recreation; 2) Incorporating experiential learning by featuring sustainable agriculture; 3) Expressing Aggie spirit, traditions, and identity; 4) Demonstrating sustainability at all levels of design. Each student team’s solution had a creative and distinct personality. Great job Aggies! Thanks for contributing to the planning effort.
