The renovation of the Memorial Student Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stout provides a compelling case-study about how to provide more with less through thoughtful space planning.
To tell that story, architects John Burse and Stacey Wehe, along with the university’s student center director, Darrin Witucki, will be giving a presentation at ACUI’s (Association of College Unions International) upcoming April conference. The talk will focus on how one tired, underutilized cafeteria-style dining room was transformed into a flexible, dynamic multi-purpose space that ebbs and flows throughout the day, making it worthy of being called the “campus living room.”
