Located at a crossroads of pedestrian traffic on the Washington University campus, Simon Hall, the original home of the Olin School of Business, underwent a major renovation to create a hub of student activity. Built in 1982, Simon did little to connect and inspire. With new buildings constructed nearby to house graduate programs, administrative suites were finally able to move out of a place that had been bursting at the seams.
Simon Hall now embraces students with a new undergraduate lounge, a communication laboratory, expanded coffee shop, an overhauled auditorium, 10 technology enhanced classrooms, and a 21st century collaborative library. Demolition began on May 19, 2014, and construction was complete in time for the first day of classes on August 25, 2014.
