Over the course of decades, Mackey Mitchell Architects has completed many additions and improvements to the St. Louis Country Club grounds.
A new golf pro shop was designed on a sloping site near the first tee, taking advantage of the site to hide golf cart storage and maintenance below grade and out of sight, while creating an inviting and gracious entrance at the top of the site. Multiple dining renovations have included a new casual outdoor dining area as well as extensive renovations to more formal venues inside the main clubhouse. Recently completed in 2012, a $4M pool replacement project included a modern pool design with high-tech filtration and mechanical equipment; renovation of the poolside dining venue which included all new kitchen renovation and an enlarged patio overlooking the pool, and new changing room buildings that complement the overall project.
Shape
Established in 1892, SLCC is rich in history and tradition, and we are complemented to have been awarded repeat work. We pride ourselves in our ability to work closely with multiple committees and listen carefully to varying opinions of members. Managing projects with many points of view does not intimidate us, and our long-term relationship with The St. Louis Country Club is proof of that.
For ensured success, each project required extensive collaboration between vast arrays of team members; from grounds keepers, specialty consultants, contractors, and landscape designers; all working towards making the clients happy.
Inspire
In addition to fulfilling the client’s program requests, all of our projects at The St. Louis Country Club have a common goal: they should blend in harmoniously with the existing grounds and structures. We paid particular attention to design details and texture of materials, working closely with contractors to reproduce age-old construction techniques so that the additions don’t just match “the look” of existing structures.
Passion + Perspective
The best compliment we can receive is when a club member believes that a new addition or renovation has always been there…
